Poetry
A river running next to your path,
Jesus ever abiding – actively present.
In motion, working and transforming,
Loud and crashing, Silent and slipping,
But never absent.
Stars dance in its reflection
repeating that you are no accident,
but the pleasure of the Creator.
Delighting in your laughter and
then adding your tears to its currents,
the river becomes deeper to quarter your pain.
Giving peace in realness and fullness it calls,
“Return and drink of the righteousness and release your burdens.”
Calling you by name in the breaking against its banks
the river reminds you again of who you are created to be.
